Destruction in Montana

BAKER, Mont. — An unknown number of people were injured and as many as a dozen homes were either damaged or completely destroyed after a tornado hit the east side of Baker just before 7 p.m. Saturday.

Little concrete information was available, but Dean Butori, the Fallon County deputy director of emergency services, said the tornado touched down inside the southwest Montana city of about 1,900 people. Baker is about 15 miles from the North Dakota state line and 100 miles southwest of Dickinson, N.D.

“We do have injuries, and at this time no fatalities,” Butori said.
